Description

The Blitz Wolf Production Cel (MGM, 1942). This World War II propaganda cartoon was the first MGM cartoon by director Tex Avery, as well as animators Preston Blair and Ed Love. This is a rare hand-inked and hand-painted production cel of Sergeant Pork defending city Pigmania against Hitler's invasion. This early anti-German World War II short was nominated for an Academy Award. Sergeant Pork was voiced by Pinto Colvig, the same man who voiced Practical Pig for Disney. Great 6.5" image. The cel is signed by legendary animator Preston Blair (1908-1995). Paint cracking in face, finger, and lower torso, but overall most of the paint is intact. Framed with a mat opening of 9" x 10".
