The 60th Annual Academy Awards Mickey Mouse Production Cel with "Mickey is Sixty!" Sorcerer's Apprentice Print (Walt Disney/Time Magazine, 1988). "That's very nice, who's your tailor?" "Walt Disney, who's yours?" Featured here is an outstanding original production cel of Mickey Mouse from his co-presentation segment at the 60th Annual Academy Awards. Paired with the print of Sorcerer Mickey coming from a special commemorative edition magazine "Mickey is Sixty!" for Mickey Mouse's 60th birthday published by Time Inc. in 1988. Produced over 35 years ago, this exceedingly rare production cel was hand-painted at Disney's world-famous Ink and Paint Department in Burbank. Coinciding with his 60th birthday, ten-time Oscar nominated Mickey Mouse was chosen to co-present the Academy Award for Best Animated Short with live-action co-host Tom Selleck. When Tom Selleck takes the stage, via Mickey's wonderful sorcery, he's quick to notice Mickey's not quite Academy Award attire, teasing the mouse: "You hardly seem dressed for the occasion..." With a swish of Disney magic, Mickey quick-changes into this presentable suit saying: "Whoops! There that's better." Animated by the same Disney feature film animation team of the time. The 16 field cel features Mickey measuring approximately 3" x 4.25" with a Walt Disney seal on the lower left corner. The cel is kept in a glass-fronted frame sized 17" x 13.75" with a mat window of 12.5" x 10" with a COA affixed to the back. The print is in a Plexiglas-fronted frame sized 17.5" x 13" with a mat window of 10" x 5.5". All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. With minimal handling and wear, this pair of Mickeys are in Very Good to Fine condition.Auction Info
