Description
The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo Production Cel Setup with "That's Monstertainment" Master Background (Hanna-Barbera, c. 1985). Scooby-Doo squints at the camera in this wonderful hand-painted production cel setup with Master Background from the haunted series The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. It was a charming 13-episode monster-of-the-week story, that had a crew of Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Scrappy Doo, and the series unique addition of Flim Flam and Vincent Von Ghoul (voiced by Vincent Price). Produced about 40 years ago! After Scooby and friends accidentally open the cursed Chest of Demons, they release 13 ancient demons into the world. The rest of the show culminates in an adventure to track down and recapture all the spooky ghouls. Measuring at approximately 2.75" x 5" our fearful hero Scooby Doo is posed as if he's inspecting the groups "Burglar Alarm". On the bottom right corner of the cel is a Hanna-Barbera seal. The paired Master background has been hand-painted in gouache nearly edge-to-edge on background board measuring 13" x 10.5" and is from "That's Monstertainment" which aired with Episode 5 on October 5, 1985. A total of 18 background artists worked on the episode with supervision by Richard Zaloudek. Fernando Arce, Marzette Bonar, Bonnie Callahan, Martin Forte, Robert Gentle, Al Gmuer, Jonathon E. Goley, Eric Heschong, Michael Humphries, Phil Lewis, Lorraine Marue, Patti Palmer, Andy Phillipson, Bill Proctor, Jeff Richards, Jeff Riche, Ron Roesch, and Gloria Wood. The cel has light handling and edge wear, mild linework wear on Scooby's feet, and slight warping of the acetone sheet. The background has handling and edge wear and minor surface abrasions on the edges where masking tape was removed during production. Overall, this setup is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
