    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Metalhead Production Cel with Master Background Group of 4 (Murakami-Wolf-Swenson, c. 1987-1996). "Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines, Raphael is cool but rude, Michelangelo is a party dude!" This is an incredible set of hand-painted original production cels featuring the four radical heroes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, presented on hand-painted original Master backgrounds from the series. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was an explosive Saturday morning success in 1987. Based on the independent comics by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brought the mainstream the weird and unique premise that audiences never knew they needed. Since its release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has seen several iterations on TV, in film, video games and action figures, and over 30 years later the franchise is still going strong. These cels from the series that started it all feature Leonardo (blue), Donatello (purple), Raphael (red) and Michelangelo (yellow-orange) with the robot created in their likeness Metalhead. The images measure 4.5", 5.5", 5.75" and 8" tall respectively. The backgrounds are rendered beautifully in gouache, and each piece shows minor handling and edge wear. The 12 field cels are taped to the backgrounds, and the condition is Very Good.
