Description

Technological Threat Production Cel (Kroyer Films, 1988). Here is a fantastic hand-painted original production cel setup from the Academy Award-nominated animated short film Technological Threat. The film was an early example of computer animation integrated with traditional animation, and is itself an allegory for the threat computer animation represented to traditional animators at the time. Telling the story of traditionally animated office workers being replaced by computer-animated robots, Technological Threat was produced and directed by Bill Kroyer who also collaborated on the story with Rich Moore and Brian Jennings. This moment is seen near the end of the film at the 3:37 mark. The cels are displayed over a printed background for presentation purposes, and they are noted with W5 and 8 in the lower right corners. They show minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.
