Tang TV Commercial Production on Pan Key Master Background (Kraft Foods, 1980). Tang was invented in 1957 and gained fame when NASA used it for John Glenn's Mercury Flight and has been associated with outer space ever since. This is an incredible one-of-a-kind Key Master setup from a tang commercial that ran in 1980. A heroic Tang-branded robot assists in a couple of young space travelers who have discovered that a pair of space-bats have absconded with their breakfast drink. The Tang character stands 7" tall and the rest of the characters measure approximately 4" tall. All are hand-inked and hand-painted on pan production cels over a Key Master hand-painted Background that measures 28" x 10.25" and is marked BG5. This is a fantastic one-of-a-kind advertising artifact from the days when Saturday morning advertising spoke directly and unabashedly to children. The setup is matted with an opening of 24" x 9" in a 30" x 15" mat. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
