DescriptionSwing Shift Cinderella "Red Hot" Production Cel Signed by Preston Blair (MGM, 1945). "And when you're near, I just can't sit still..." sings that "Pin-Up Princess," Little Red Hot, in this screamingly funny Tex Avery-directed short, and here she is in an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel. Swing Shift Cinderella was the second "Red Hot" cartoon, with Red animated by the great Preston Blair (1908 - 1995), a name that is well-known to just about every would-be animation artist thanks to his classic "How To" books on the subject. Preston is also well-known for his contributions to Disney's Fantasia (1940), namely the Mickey Mouse segment, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" and the alligator-hippo scene from "Dance of the Hours." This cel bears an inscription to Walter Foster, who published Preston's Animation and Cartoon Animation books, and is hand-signed. Wow! You can find the image at the 5:44 mark in online viewings. The cel is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 9", and has an overall mat size of 16.5" x 14". Cel condition is Fair, with noticable paint loss, but is still readily recognizable as Red Hot.
