Swing Shift Cinderella Red Hot Animation Drawing Signed by Preston Blair (MGM, 1945). Here's a fantastic production drawing of Red Hot from the 1945 Tex Avery directed short, Red Hot Riding Hood. The drawing is hand-signed by Preston Blair (1908 - 1995) who animated this scene. Blair is best remembered for his work at Walt Disney Productions (including animating Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice in Fantasia) and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio. He left Disney after the 1941 Disney animator's strike, and was hired to work for Tex Avery's unit at MGM. There, he became particularly known for animating this titular female character. The drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 animation paper. Included is a 9" x 17" fold-out from a book featuring Red Hot which is also signed by the artist. Condition is Very Good with edge wear, a torn top center peghole.
