Surf Bored Little Audrey Production Cel (Famous Studios, 1953). After Paramount decided not to renew the license on Little Lulu, Bill Tytla came up with a suitable replacement -- Little Audrey, who would go on to big success with her "dream adventure" cartoons like The Seapreme Court, where she dreams she is put on trial underwater for fishing, and also in comic books and newspaper strips as well. In Surf Bored, she does her best to sneak her pet dog past a burly lifeguard at a "No Dogs Allowed" beach; it's one of her funniest cartoons. This piece, on 3-peghole animation acetate with generic background, is in Very Good condition with some minor restoration, and a barely visible crack along her cheek to her nose. Audrey cels are very tough to find. By the way, May Questal added the voice of Audrey; she's best known as the voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl.
