    Description

Super Friends Legion of Doom Main Title Production Cel and Key Master Background (Hanna-Barbera, 1978). The third season of Super Friends is also known as Challenge of the Super Friends. This is the season that introduced a Who's Who of DC Comics super villains called the Legion of Doom. Here's the rare original hand-painted production cel that was the first to show this villainous gang, as seen in the opening credits of the show. Superman's chief foe Lex Luthor is at the center, flanked by (from left to right) Black Manta, Giganta, Toyman, The Riddler, Bizarro, and Scarecrow on one side, and Captain Cold, Cheetah, Solomon Grundy, Gorilla Grodd, Brainiac, and Sinestro on the other. You can see this exact scene at the 0:51 mark in the opening. The cel image area has an overall size of approximately 10" x 2". The cel had at one time become lightly stuck to the background, slightly askew, and when the cel was correctly positioned, it caused some slight paint damage to both cel and background. Regardless of these minor concerns, this remains the biggest, baddest collection of DC Super Villains ever to be animated! Condition is Good.
