Stupor Duck/Don't Axe Me Daffy Duck Production Cel with Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1956/57). In this Superman parody by director Robert McKimson, Daffy plays mild-mannered reporter Cluck Trent who is in reality Stupor Duck! This is an original hand-painted production background by Richard Thomas. It measures 10.5" x 14" and can be seen around the 5:16 mark when after Daffy Duck is blown up by dynamite, he returns for his "S" emblem and says to the man who set off the charges, "I'll relieve you of that, if you don't mind." Over the background is a wonderful vintage hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Daffy from another McKimson-directed short, Don't Axe Me. It's a 4.5" tall image on a 12 field cel and it can be seen at the 4:47 mark of this short originally released in back in 1957. A vintage Daffy Duck production background with a vintage Daffy Duck production cel is practically unheard of. The background shows minor handling with pinholes in corners. Overall condition on both cel and background is Very Good.
