StarKist Charlie the Tuna TV Commercial Production Cel Setup (DePatie-Freleng, c. 1970s). "Tell 'em Charlie sent you!" This iconic character pitched StarKist tuna from the 1960s through the 1980s and beyond. Here's an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel setup featuring that tuna with good taste, Charlie, with a basketball-spinning starfish, as the classic "Sorry Charlie" sign lowers on a fish hook. Image sizes are 3.5" for Charlie, 3" for the starfish. Charlie the Tuna was created by Tom Rodgers of the Leo Burnett agency in 1961; many of these spots were animated by DePatie-Freleng. The setup is placed on a print background for presentation purposes; it's matted with an opening size of 12" x 8.5". Framed with glass for an overall size of 19.75" x 15.75". Cel has slipped a bit in the frame; overall condition is Very Good.
