SpongeBob SquarePants "Tea at the Treedome" Patrick and SpongeBob Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 1999). "Aaaahhhhhhh." Sandy's thirst-quencher doesn't quite go as planned for SpongeBob and Patrick in this original production cel from Episode 1's "Tea at the Treedome" of Nickelodeon's fan-favorite series SpongeBob SquarePants. This beloved series was one of the last Nicktoons to premiere in the 1990s, and the only one of the decade still airing with a total of 15 seasons and counting though only the first season was traditionally cel animated. Airing as the third segment of the debut episode "The Treedome" premiered on May 1, 1999 featuring SpongeBob's first encounter with an air-breathing animal in Bikini Bottom to whom he becomes fast friends. However when Sandy invites him to her home (a climate-controlled dome filled with air instead of water), SpongeBob gets quite the dehydrating surprise. From the closing scenes, SpongeBob and Patrick try to drink their tea near the 22:44 timestamp of the full 3-segment episode when viewed online, but their helmets end up in the way. The duo have been hand-painted with hand-inked detail to three-quarters figures sharing a combined image area of 6.5" x 5" nicely centered on the12 field cel which is numbered in the lower right and has been paired with a print background for display purposes. With typical handling and edge wear including minor linework wear, faint paint bleeding, and minor peghole tearing, overall these thirsty pals are in Very Good condition.Auction Info
