Description
SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob Production Cel (Nickelodeon, c. 1999-2001). "I'm ready! I'm ready!" Appearing from his pineapple under the sea, presented here is a fantastic original production cel featuring the titular SpongeBob SquarePants from his now-long running iconic series. This mega-popular Nickelodeon animated series (the fourth-longest running American animated series ever, currently with 15 seasons and over 300 episodes) about an undersea sponge and his friends was in fact created by a marine science teacher, Stephen Hillenburg. Here's a characteristically cheerful image of SpongeBob from Season 1 which was the only season to be traditionally cel animated. He has been hand-painted with hand-inked detail to a full-figured character size measuring 3" x 2.5" as he seemingly waves directly at the viewer. The 12 field cel is numbered in the lower right and has been paired with a print background for display purposes. With typical handling and edge wear including slight paint bleeding to the eyes and minor linework wear with evidence of restoration, overall this nautically nonsensical sea sponge is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
