Description
SpongeBob SquarePants "Arrgh!" SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs Pan Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 2000). "So you think ol' Captain Krabs has gone crazy, do ye?!" Mad for treasure, Mr. Krabs confronts SpongeBob and Patrick in this original production cel from Season One's "Arrgh!" of Nickelodeon's smash hit series SpongeBob SquarePants. Created by former marine biology educator Stephen Hillenburg, SpongeBob debuted on May 1, 1999, with its recent July 15th (2024) episode marking 300. Only Season One of this incredibly long-running series was traditionally animated making this offering a special treat! Premiering with Episode 17 on March 15, 2000, this segment saw Mr. Krabs steal SpongeBob and Patrick's Flying Dutchman game board and use it in leu of a real treasure map. This moment after SpongeBob and Patrick discover the ruse can be spotted beginning near the 9:28 mark when viewed online as Mr. Krabs threatens them for snooping. Each featured full-figured on their own character layer, the pirate trio has a combined hand-painted image area of approximately 9.5" x 4.5". The 12 field pan cel bears production codes along the bottom edge of each layer and has been placed on a print background for display purposes. With typical handling and edge wear including a 2" tear at the top edge of SpongeBob's layer well away from the artwork and minor surface debris, overall this swashbuckling delight is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
