Description
Space Ghost "Creature King" Rare Title Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1966). Reminisce about one of Space Ghost's earliest adventures with the 3-layer 12 field title cel in this lot. The title cel was created for the fifth segment of Space Ghost and aired as the first segment of episode 3, premiering on 9/24/1966. Jan and Jace found themselves trapped on another planet where the animals were all controlled by the titular Creature King, who could make the animals do his bidding with the help of his mind control helmet. He plans to invade other planets with his animal army, which leaves only Space Ghost to save the day. The episode was Creature King's debut and was written by both Walter Black and Bill Hamilton. The rare hand-painted title cel is marked with the production number AX-6 in the lower right with the character and text measuring about 7.25'' x 6'' combined. The cel is displayed on a printed layout of the title card for presentation purposes and is accompanied by a printed list for 22 Space Ghost episodes, featuring "Creature King" that were okayed by Joe Barbera on 7/19/66. This signoff is part of the print. The multilayer cel and the accompanying print are in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear and minor paint wear.Auction Info
