Solid Serenade Tom, Jerry, and Spike Production Background and Production Cel Setup (MGM, 1946). An original hand-painted 12 field production background for the 26th Hanna-Barbera-directed theatrical short starring Tom and Jerry. This great background can be seen about 38 seconds into the short, which had some sequences re-used for three other Tom and Jerry shorts. The background has terrific hand-inked and hand-painted cels of Tom, Jerry, and Spike, all three done in their 1940s style, with Tom having the extra gray space between his eyes. The short featured all three characters as well as the song "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby". These are production cels from another short, or are possibly cels produced at the studio just for this great presentation. Awesome images of 1.5" to 4.5", framed to an overall size of 21.5" x 19", with a mat opening of 11" x 9". One of the nicest 1940s Tom and Jerry setups we have seen. In Fine condition.Auction Info
