    Description

    Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Old Hag Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1937). No lot showcases the global reach of the Art of Disney in 1937 like this piece. This is an outstanding hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of the Old Hag as she comes up to the dwarfs' cottage window with the poisoned apple, and sees Snow White. This is a Courvoisier cel that was originally sold at Ryman and Co. Ltd. Fine Art Dealers, located on 23 High Street in Oxford, England; the original gallery sticker is still on the back of the frame. The cel is in the original Courvoisier cream-colored mat with the small script writing. The Old Hag and Snow White are on a Courvoisier hand-painted background. The piece has the Old Hag, the apple, Snow White at the window, and the green branch that was overhead. Matted with an opening size of 9.5" x 7.5", and framed with glass. The images are stunning, measuring 4" and 5". This highly desirable and important piece of Disney Studios/Courvoisier Galleries history came directly from the family of the original 1937 owners, and is new to market. Fine condition.
