Description
Sleeping Beauty Maleficent Pan Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1959). "We must go to the dungeon and cheer him up," says Maleficent in this scene, walking toward the dungeon to taunt Prince Phillip. This is a stunning original production cel of the Queen of Evil herself, the wicked Maleficent. The full-figure image is hand-painted and hand-inked on a large 23.75" x 12.5" pan production cel, with an overall image size of about 9" x 8.75"! This image shows off Maleficent's beautifully stylized character design, with angular lines and striking colors highlighting her flowering robes and slender form. The cel can be seen at about the 1:02:25 mark of Sleeping Beauty. The piece is numbered in its lower right corner with 11, and it is displayed atop a color print background for presentation purposes. The cel is in Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including some paint separation and a few spots of missing paint. There are paint chips on Maleficent's robe, staff, and collar.Auction Info
