Sleeping Beauty King Hubert Production Cels Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1959). This is a truly regal pair of hand-inked and hand-painted production cels of King Hubert, the father of Prince Phillip from Disney's last hand-inked animated feature film. The care and detail that went into the production art of this film is unsurpassed and was the end of an era with the advent of Xerography. The first cel is a full-figure image of Hubert in profile. He measures 7" tall on a trimmed cel still in original Disneyland Art Corner mat with gold foil sticker on the back. The mat opening measures 6.25" x 9.25" with an overall measurement of 9" x 12". The second features Hubert in a regal pose measuring 7.5" tall on a cel trimmed to 7.5" x 10". This too is an Art Corner setup with a gold foils sticker, but the mat has been removed. These are two wonderful production cels from Disney's most expensive cinematic undertaking of the time. Both cels have some paint cracks and loss. Condition on the lot is Good.
