Description
Sleeping Beauty King Hubert and King Stefan Production Cel Pair (Walt Disney, 1959). Presented in this lot is a regal pair of hand-painted and hand-inked production cels from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, featuring great images of King Hubert and King Stefan. Undoubtedly one of Disney's most iconic movies, Sleeping Beauty premiered on January 29, 1959 (over 65 years ago!), based on the world-famous Charles Perrault fairy tale and featuring music from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet. The image of the confused King Hubert can be spotted towards the end of the film, at the 1:13:20 timestamp, showcasing the monarch with a figure size of 7" x 5", while the worried 3.75" x 5.25" King Stefan shows up at the 40:11 mark. The two cels are trimmed and shown on mats measuring 14" x 11" and 12" x 9", respectively. Adding to the splendor of this lot, King Stefan's cel comes originally from Disneyland's Art Corner store, as seen in the gold sticker on the back of the mat. Mild waviness can be seen on the cels. Mats are sold as-is. In Very Good condition with light handling and edge wear from production.Auction Info
