Description
Sleeping Beauty "I Wonder" Briar Rose and Birds Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1959). "I wonder why each little bird has a someone to sing sweet things too." Briar Rose explores the forest and muses about love with two of her woodland friends in the lovely trimmed production cel from the animated masterpiece Sleeping Beauty. Measuring around about 4.75'' x 7.5'' combined with the sweet little blue and green birds. Briar Rose, the beautiful princess Aurora in disguise, is out for a day of berry picking with her basket while her aunts plan the surprise party for her 16th birthday. Both were created for the "I Wonder" musical sequence; Briar for the scene at roughly 25:46 as she takes off her shawl and the birds for around 26:00 when they follow her while she quietly sings through the forest. She was animated by a few master artists throughout the film including Disney Legend Marc Davis and Iwao Takamoto. The cel is displayed on a print background from the film for presentation purposes and is in a 14'' x 18.25'' mat. Good condition overall with light handling, faint rippling, and small areas of paint loss and paint wear to the characters.Auction Info
