Description

Sleeping Beauty Fauna Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1959). "Now, dear, that isn't a very nice thing to say." Fauna says to Merryweather as she pours her tea, scolding the younger fairy for what she said about Maleficent. The exchange happens after the kingdom's spinning wheels begin to burn. This kind green fairy appears in this original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel from the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty. She is the second in command and is known to be the quietest of the three. The cel was originally sold at the Disneyland Art Corner Store and can be found at about 11:29 in the film. The teacup shown in the film at that time is not part of the cel. The fairy measures about 6.25'' x 8'' in a window of around 10'' x 8''. A stunning printed Eyvind Earle background from the scene sits behind the cel. The work is in the original mat with the gold Disney sticker on the back. The surface of the cel has light surface scratching and small bits of paint debris with minor handling wear. The matte also has some wear and age-related toning. Very Good condition overall.
