Serial Experiments Lain Lain Production Cel and Animation Drawing(Triangle Staff, 1998). The titular protagonist of Serial Experiments Lain is featured front and center in this lot, featuring Lain in her Ouka Girls' Academy uniform. A cult-classic anime, this 13- episodes series explores such themes such as reality and identity, telling the story of Lain Iwakura, an adolescent middle school girl living in suburban Japan, and her introduction to the Wired, a global communications network similar to the Internet. This anime has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to its opening theme, "Duvet" by the band Bôa, which has resurfaced on various online platforms. Labeled B21 in the top right corner, the 12-field cel shows a terrific image of Lain measuring 4.5" x 7", shown on a printed background for presentation purposes. Also featured is the matching animation drawing of Lain rendered in graphite and color pencils. The cel is taped to the background with archival artist tape. Paint residue can be seen on the drawing, with some crumpling on the top area. The cel has some fading on the linework. Overall, the condition is Very Good with minor handling and edge wear from production.
