Description

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Scooby-Doo Stock Production Cel with Production Background and The New Scooby-Doo Movies Mystery Machine Color Model Cel (Hanna-Barbera, 1969/1976). Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! was the very first incarnation of the beloved series starring Scooby-Doo and his four mystery-solving pals. The show first premiered in 1969. It was followed by The New Scooby-Doo Movies, which first aired in 1972. This group of two cels represents both of these earliest Scooby-Doo shows. The first piece is a stock production cel which gives a great close-up of Scooby-Doo's shocked face. A stock cel is a cel that is used over and over again in production because of its re-use value, so this cel likely showed up in several of the episodes, and possibly even the title sequence! This cel features an image of Scooby's face that measures 4.25" x 6.5". The cel is displayed atop an original, hand-painted production background, possibly from the series. The background is rendered with acrylic paint on 13" x 10.5" background board, and it is labeled in its lower right corner with SM-8. The second piece in this group is an original, hand-painted 12 field color model cel of the Mystery Machine from The New Scooby-Doo Movies. The image of the iconic van measures 4" x 3.5", and it also has silhouettes of all five main characters inside. Both pieces are in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear.
