Description
Science Ninja Team Gatchaman Joe the Condor Production Cel with Custom Painted Background (Tatsunoko Productions, c. 1972-74). The determined marksman of the team, Joe the Condor, takes center stage in this lot with an excellent hand-painted production cel from the iconic anime series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Adapted for Western audiences as Battle of the Planets and later as G-Force, the anime series is known for pioneering the tropes that would later be adopted by the Sentai (or Power Rangers) series, such as a themed group of justice fighters. Featuring his emblematic condor outfit, Joe is featured measuring a fantastic figure size of 6.5" x 6", shown on a custom-painted background, and displayed on a 10.5" x 9.5" paper mat with a 9" x 7.75" opening, presenting a Tatsunoko stamp on the bottom right corner. The cel shows fading ink on the linework with some signs of restoration. Mat is sold as-is. In Very Good condition with light handling wear from production.Auction Info
