Description
Saludos Amigos "Pedro" Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1943). "All clear, Pedro. Let 'er go. Give 'er the gun, boy!" Pedro, the titular protagonist of the segment of the same name from Saludos Amigos, takes off for his first flight so he can carry mail through the route over the highest mountain, Acongua, to Mendoza. He cute little plane is full figure in the hand-painted and hand-inked Courvoisier production cel setup in this lot, where he has been meticulously trimmed to figure and mounted to a 6'' x 7'' board with hand-painted airbrushed Courvoisier background. Pedro appears at roughly 14:24 in the in the film as he leaves the airport for the first time with mail on wing. Courvoisier created these setups using the original production cels, and made them their own work of art not only with hand-painted backgrounds but with hand-painted embellishments on the cels. This one has a few of those small embellishments that add more of a stormy, winter atmosphere to match the background and the black line from the tip of Pedro's tail to his hat. Very Good condition with faint edge and handling wear, light debris, and tape at the back.Auction Info
