Description
Saint Tail "A Comet Approaches! The Earth's Final Night??" Meimi Production Cel with Production Background and Animation Drawing (Tokyo Movie Shinsha, c. 1995-96). "This is so embarrassing." We have in this lot an adorable hand-painted production cel from the Shojo anime Saint Tail, featuring an expressive image of our protagonist, Meimi, in her St. Paulia's Academy uniform. This image was created to appear at about the 5:34 mark of the 19th episode, "A Comet Approaches! The Earth's Final Night??," as Meimi comments on the romantic moment shared by her parents. This 12-field two-layer cel shows our protagonist with a distinctive anime expression, measuring 6" x 7.5", featured on a gouache-rendered production background. Also included is the matching animation drawing, done in gouache on background board, labeled B1 END in the top right corner. The cel has its layers taped by the top edge and is taped to the background with archival artist tape. A small paint spot is visible on the right edge of the drawing, away from the art. Light fading can be seen on the cel's linework. Overall, the condition is Very Good with light handling and edge wear from production.More information about TMS Entertainment.
