Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars "Saturn Awakens: The Ten Sailor Guardians Unite" Sailor Saturn and Hotaru Tomoe Production Cel with Production Background (Toei, 1996). "Who are you?" "I am Sailor Saturn, your protector. The time is approaching, now is the time to awaken. Close your eyes." The time has come for Sailor Saturn to fully reawaken from within young Hotaru Tomoe in this original production cel with production background from episode 2 "Saturn Awakens: The Ten Sailor Guardians Unite" of Sailor Moon's 5th season Sailor Stars. After Sailor Moon was able to use her Pure Heart Crystal to enter the core to save Hotaru in an earlier season, Saturn's Guardian is reborn as an infant. She grew with an unnatural quickness as yet another battle loomed on the horizon. When the spirit of Sailor Saturn appears before Hotaru, the innocent girl's memories of her past life are roused and her power to become the Sailor Guardian of Death and Rebirth is returned. Saturn's spirit can be seen awakening Hotaru's latent abilities near the 13:26 mark of the episode. This remarkable image of a key scene features the pair hand-painted to a combined image size of 8.25" x 7.75" including Hotaru's bedsheets. The 12 field multilayer cel has been paired with a absolutely ethereal production background, possibly from the series, which has been hand-painted in gouache on board and trimmed to the approximate dimensions of the cel. With typical studio handling and wear including minor areas of fading to the linework and small spots of surface wear to the background, overall this astonishing cel is in Very Good condition.More information about Sailor Moon.
