Sailor Moon Production Cel Setup with Production Background (Toei Animation, c. 1992-97). You can almost hear Usagi's flustered shrieks despite having assumed her heroic alter identity in this original production cel setup from the hit classic anime series Sailor Moon. Dodging attacks from a "monster of the week" with her typical charm, Sailor Moon's brooch and fuku uniform indicate this cel comes from the second season, "Sailor Moon R", not to be confused with the film by the same title. Our meatball-headed protector is featured hunched in the lower right quadrant of the 12 field cel, hand-painted to an expressive 6.75" x 5". The cel is presented on a hand-painted 12 field production background, which has been rendered vividly in gouache and watercolor to a size of 13.5" x 9.75". The cel displays the production code B3 while the background shows #28 9-1, all found in the top right. The setup shows minor handling and edge wear with slight fading to the cel's linework and pinholes in the corners of the background; the condition is Good to Very Good.
