Roman City Licinus Production Cel Setup and Master Background (PBS/Kurtz and Friends, 1994). This Emmy Award-winning PBS Documentary, based on David Macaulay's book City, tells the story of fictional ancient Roman city of Verbonia in Gaul, with animation by Bob Kurtz's Kurtz and Friends Studio. In this original hand-inked hand-painted 12 field 4-cel setup, we see the corrupt former procurator of Gaul, now reduced to Augustus Caesar's royal food taster. This scene can be found at the 35:52 mark in the hour-long episode. Figure sizes are 6.5". The top cel is hand-signed by Bob Kurtz, and the setup is placed on an original hand-painted background from the film. Condition is Very Good, with minor handling wear.
