    Description

Ren and Stimpy "Fire Dogs" Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 1991). Disguised as Dalmatians to get food, shelter and money, Ren and Stimpy get jobs as fire dogs. Although they do not resemble Dalmatians, a can of spotted "dalmatian paint" allows them to pass as the spotted canines. Here is an original production cel of Ren and Stimpy from the episode "Fire Dogs," the fourth episode in Season One, released on 9/15/91; it was written and directed by John Kricfalusi. The show was created John Kricfalusi who also provides the voice for Ren. The cel was hand-painted on 12 field acetate and placed on a color card background for presentation purposes. The setup is enclosed in a glass-fronted frame of 18" x 14.5" with a mat opening of 11.25" x 8". Frame sold as-is. Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, praised the show for its outrageousness and called it "the only good cartoon on TV" other than The Simpsons. Fine condition.
