Description
Raid Commercial Production Cel Setup (SC Johnson, c. 1980s). "Know what you're going to get?" "RAID?!" This production cel setup features an excellent image of three "mascots" for Raid brand pest spray, the Raid Bugs! Legendary characters in the world of advertising, these insect antagonists were originally developed by illustrious animator Tex Avery (1908 - 1980), and their look continued to be developed by illustrator Don Pegler (1929 - 2011). In 2015, the Raid Bugs were inducted into the "Salute to Advertising's Greatest Icons" by the Museum of Broadcast Communications. Hand-inked and hand-painted, the large, combined image size of these anxious bugs measures approximately 8.75" x 6" on a two-layered 12 field cel setup. Presented over a hilarious print that puts the spotlight on the characters. A fantastic piece celebrating commercial animation! The piece shows production handling wear, light paint/surface debris, and slight warping on the acetate sheets. In Good to Very Good condition.Auction Info
