Raid Commercial Production Cel (SC Johnson, c. 1970s-80s). With the unforgettable catchphrase "Raid kills bugs dead!" Raid commercials have will forever be celebrated in the canon of animated advertising. Iconic characters to say the least, the Raid Bugs were originally developed by legendary animator Tex Avery, and their design was further developed by illustrator Don Pegler. The ads were created by the respected advertising company Leo Burnett Worldwide. In 2015, the Raid Bugs were even inducted into the "Salute to Advertising's Greatest Icons" by the Museum of Broadcast Communications! This excelling hand-inked and hand-painted original production cel is comprised of two sheets of acetate displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes. It features one of the Raid bugs in a large close-up that measures 7.25" x 9.5" on the 12 field cels. The piece is matted with a window size of 11.5" x 8.75" and an overall mat size of 17.25" x 14.5". Minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
