Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure Ann and Andy Pan Production Cel Pair (Bobbs Merrill Company, 1977). Johnny Gruelle's classic ragdoll characters come to life in the 1977 live action-animated feature film, Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure, directed by Richard Williams (who would later serve as animation director for Who Framed Roger Rabbit?). Offered here is a rare pair of matched pan production cels that appear together in the film showcasing the title characters, beloved Raggedy Ann and Andy. A loose adaptation of Gruelle's 1924 children's novel, this film received praised for its animation, voice cast, and songs. Featured in half-figured closeups Ann and Andy each appear on large 17.75" x 10.25" pan cels with the production codes G-8 and B-8 appearing in their respective lower right corners. Ann has a hand-painted figure size of 4.5" x 6.25" and Andy measures 3.5" x 6.5", with both characters presenting shadowy gray tones possibly from a scene set within the Deep Deep Woods. With typical studio handling and edge wear, overall this rare pair of childhood favorites is in Very Good to Fine condition.Auction Info
