Description

Quisp Cereal Commercial Production Cel with Painted Background and Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Jay Ward, c. 1960s-70s). America's favorite cereal "spokesalien" flies through the cosmos in this wonderful original hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cel. Quisp and Quake were two "competing" cereals from Quaker Oats that were introduced by way of Saturday morning commercials in 1965; Quisp won the battle but both cereals have come and gone from the marketplace several times. Quisp is holding a production stat cereal box as he flies and has twinkling stars in his wake; the overall image size of Quisp and the box measures approximately 5.25" x 3.5". The cel includes a great Jay Ward stamp in the lower right and is placed on a production background with an added space rock overlay along the lower edge. The background is from an unknown production; it measures 14.5" x 10.25". Quisp's matching graphite animation drawing is included; it has a mild sun-struck outline that doesn't affect the image. The drawing and background are in Good to Very Good condition, while the cel is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
