Description
Quisp Cereal Commercial Production Cel with Painted Background and Animation Drawing Group of 2 (Jay Ward, c. 1960s-70s). America's favorite cereal "spokesalien" flies through the cosmos in this wonderful original hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cel. Quisp and Quake were two "competing" cereals from Quaker Oats that were introduced by way of Saturday morning commercials in 1965; Quisp won the battle but both cereals have come and gone from the marketplace several times. Quisp is holding a production stat cereal box as he flies and has twinkling stars in his wake; the overall image size of Quisp and the box measures approximately 5.25" x 3.5". The cel includes a great Jay Ward stamp in the lower right and is placed on a production background with an added space rock overlay along the lower edge. The background is from an unknown production; it measures 14.5" x 10.25". Quisp's matching graphite animation drawing is included; it has a mild sun-struck outline that doesn't affect the image. The drawing and background are in Good to Very Good condition, while the cel is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.More information about Jay Ward Studios. See also: Ward Studios Artist.
