Description

Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin Winnie the Pooh and Piglet Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1997). "But you're brave too, Piglet. Braver than... uh, something." "I am? Oh, what thing is that?" "I'm not sure, Piglet. Oh, if only I could remember." Featured in this lot is a wonderful 12 field hand-painted 2-layer production cel of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet from Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin. The film was released on 8/5/1997 and was directed by Karl Geurs, following Christopher Robin's friends in the 100 Acre Wood as they searched high and low for him after he leaves for school. They face their own insecurities in their long and dangerous search, but Pooh makes sure to take a moment in this cel to reassure Piglet, who was nearly carried off by a swarm of butterflies moments before. Pooh tries to tell Piglet he's braver than them but doesn't actually remember what they're called. In the end, the two walk hand-in-hand to rejoin the group at around 32:48. The beloved characters measure roughly 5.75'' x 5'' combined with the purple butterfly and are displayed on a scene-matching print background and 16'' x 12'' board. The reverse of the board includes a Disney COA and the cel features a Disney Television seal. Good to Very Good condition with faint edge and handling wear, the top cel adhered to the one below, and minor tape wear on the board.
