Pom Poko Production Cel (Studio Ghibli, 1994). One of many spectacular and detailed crowd shots, this is a fantastic hand-painted original production cel from the Isao Takahata-directed classic Pom Poko. When a group of tanuki, raccoon dogs, have their homes replaced by human urban developments, they take it upon themselves to fight back with their powers of transformation. This Studio Ghibli animated feature was the number one Japanese film on the domestic market in 1994. A great piece from the successful film, this delightful image of the fun-loving tanuki nearly fills the 13.75" x 9" cel. The piece is numbered A7 in the upper right corner, and it shows minor handling and edge wear from normal production use. This image can be seen on page 103 of the German Film Institute's gallery exhibition book Ga-Netchu! The Manga Anime Syndrome. The condition is Very Good.
