Description
Pinocchio Stromboli and Pinocchio Production Cel with Custom Background Signed by Walt Disney (Walt Disney, 1940). "I will push you in the public's eye! Your face, she will be on everybody's tongue." Here we have a spectacular production cel of Pinocchio and Stromboli from the 1940 masterpiece displayed on a custom background with a mat that has been signed by Walt Disney himself! Both characters along with Stromboli's precious coins have been meticulously trimmed to figure and mounted on the custom-painted gouache background. Pinocchio appears at about 41:28, Stromboli at 41:35, and coins at 41:17 and 42:55 as they discuss how well the little puppet did during his first performance, the greedy puppet master taking all of the earnings. To make things even more amazing for collectors, the mat bears a faint WDP stamp and was exhibited in the Walt Disney Family Museum's Wish Upon a Star: The Art of Pinocchio exhibit that ran from 5/18/2016 to 1/9/2017! A truly historical and meaningful piece for Disney, the lot is displayed in an 18'' x 20'' Plexiglas-fronted frame and is in Good condition with light handling, age-related toning to the mat, and some paint discoloration/wear.
