Pinocchio Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1940). Now here's a pose for you! Presented is a tremendous hand-inked and hand-painted Courvoisier production cel setup of Pinocchio and his conscience, Jiminy Cricket, from Disney's famous 1940 animated movie Pinocchio. Guthrie Courvoisier, president of Courvoisier Galleries in San Francisco, understood the artistic and collectible value of Disney's production cels, such as this one. His foresight was critical in elevating Disney's status in the art world, transforming celluloid paintings and backgrounds into fine art pieces now coveted by collectors. The phenomenal image of Jiminy Cricket shows the character measuring 1.5" x 2", appearing at the 34:19 mark of the movie, while Pinocchio shows an image size of 5.5" x 7.5", seen at the 34:16 timestamp. The cels are professionally trimmed to image and featured on a beautiful Courvoisier background. The lot is displayed on a glass-fronted frame to an overall size of 17.5" x 18.5", with a mat opening of 8" x 9.5". This mat shows the inscription "Now you listen to me, Pinoke" underneath the picture. The original Courvoisier sticker is on the reverse. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
