Peter Pan Lost Boys Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1953).
In the Edwardian London neighborhood of Bloomsbury, George and Mary Darling's preparations to attend a party are disrupted by the antics of the boys, John and Michael, acting out a story about Peter Pan and the pirates that were told to them by their older sister, Wendy. That night they are visited in the nursery by Peter Pan himself. Peter takes them to the island of Never Land. A ship of pirates is anchored off Never Land, commanded by Captain Hook. The Darling children easily evade Hook, and despite a trick by jealous Tinker Bell, they meet up with the Lost Boys: six lads in animal-costume pajamas, who look to Peter as their leader. From this classic Disney film we have a superb production cel featuring two of the lost boys. The cel is hand-inked and hand-painted on a 16 field cel which has been trimmed to 11"and paired with a copy/print of the background for presentation purposes. The cel is in an 18.5" x 17" frame with a mat opening of 9.5" x 8". Frame sold as-is. Peter Pan was the final Disney film in which all nine members of "Walt's Nine Old Men" worked together as directing animators. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a piece of historically significant production art from Peter Pan. Fine condition.
