Peanuts The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show Snoopy Production Cel (Bill Melendez, c. 1983-85). In a gag that never gets old, Snoopy writes a novel always beginning with "It was a dark and stormy night." At Lucy's suggestion to improve his stories with more of a "once upon a time" beginning, Snoopy writes, "once upon a time it was a dark and stormy night." This is an iconic image, quintessential Snoopy, as he confidently begins a new page while sitting at his ideal desk: the top of his doghouse. The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show aired Saturday mornings on the CBS network from 1983 to 1985 for a short-lived but absolutely fantastic 18 episodes. This lovely hand-painted original production cel from the series is displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, and it is framed under glass with a mat window size of 11.25" x 8.25"and an overall frame size of approximately 15" x 12". The cel shows minor handling wear with some mild wrinkling, and the condition is Very Good. The frame is sold as is.Auction Info
