Description
Peanuts The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show Production Cel Sequence of 11 on Production Background with Group of 7 Animation Drawings (Bill Melendez, 1983). The first time Charlie Brown gets his hat knocked off by a baseball was in the Peanuts comic strip dated 4/6/53. The second animated television special was Charlie Brown's All-Stars which debuted on 6/8/68. Poor Charlie Brown pitches the ball, and once again, watches the ball go out of the park. Charlie Brown and his baseball team the All Stars have one of the longest running stories in the Charles Schulz Peanuts world. This is an outstanding hand-painted, panoramic production background of the Charlie Brown All Stars pitcher's mound and field. The background measures an astonishing 36" x 10.5". The piece is credited to the hand of Dean Spille and was created using gouache on background board. The cels are displayed in an amazing sequence of eleven production cels. Each image measures an impressive 4". This is one of the most extraordinary cel setups we have seen from a Charlie Brown animated film. Matching animation drawing from seven of the eleven cels are included in this lot. The cels have some tape on border; otherwise, the artwork is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
