Description

Peanuts The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show Charlie Brown Production Cel (Bill Melendez, c, 1983-1985). Charlie Brown sits with a book and an anxious expression in this fantastic hand-painted 12-field cel produced over 40 years ago for The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. The series featured the adored characters and witty storylines from the Charles Schulz (1922-2000) comic strip Peanuts and aired on Saturday mornings to the CBS network from 1982 to 1985. Charles' first syndication of Peanuts was in 1950, with a slow rise to success the endearing comic would be adapted to animation for the first time in 1962 in the TV documentary, A Boy Named Charlie Brown. After a string of successful animated specials, the "lovable loser", Charlie Brown, would get his own show called The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show that ran from 1983 to 1985. Charlie Brown measures approximately 2.75" x 2.75" on the12 field cel, which is displayed over a print background. The cel was trimmed and reaffixed to its peg holes with tape. With light production handling and edgewear this piece is in Very Good condition.
