Description

Peanuts MetLife Commercial Original Snoopy Production Cel and key Master Background Attributed to Dean Spille (Bill Melendez, c. 1980s-90s). This outstanding Key Master setup features Snoopy likely from a MetLife television commercial, capturing the beloved beagle in a full-body pose as he competes in track-and-field by throwing a shot put. The cel is hand-inked and hand-painted on 12-field acetate and paired with its original hand-painted Key Master production background, attributed to celebrated background artist Dean Spille. Framed to 19" x 15", the piece represents the artistry of Bill Melendez Productions, where Spille collaborated with Melendez on countless Peanuts projects. Dean Spille, who began his career at Playhouse Pictures in the 1950s, became a highly respected designer and painter for both commercial work and television animation. He frequently worked with Bill Melendez, who brought Charles Schulz's Peanuts to the screen and famously voiced Snoopy and Woodstock. In 1985, MetLife adopted Snoopy and other Peanuts characters as brand icons, with the characters starring in commercials, print advertising, and promotional premiums. This rare Key Master setup showcases Snoopy's whimsical athleticism and timeless appeal. Condition is Very Good. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
