Description

Peanuts - Charlie Brown's All Stars! Linus, Charlie Brown, and Lucy Production Cel Setup with Master Background Signed by Bill Melendez (Bill Melendez, 1966). "Oh, you blockhead! We lost the game because of Charlie Brown!" When Charlie Brown attempts to steal home, he loses the baseball game once again for his team in the second prime-time animated Peanuts special Charlie Brown's All Stars! Capturing a great moment from the historical special, this hand-inked and hand-painted production cel setup features Linus, Charlie Brown, and Lucy after their upsetting defeat. It is displayed on a rare original Master background rendered in gouache on board by the great Dean Spille. Additionally, the piece is signed by director Bill Melendez (1916 - 2008) with the note "For Scott, best regards from Charlie Brown, via Bill Melendez." An astonishingly rare find, the 12 field setup shows trimming, and it's stapled on the left and right edges. A Master setup from one of the earliest and most beloved Peanuts specials! Minor handling, and the condition is Very Good.
