Description

Operation: Rabbit Wile E. Coyote and Bugs Bunny Production Cel Setup with Painted Background (Warner Brothers, 1952). "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius." So opens this Chuck Jones-directed short, released 1/19/1952, with Bugs Bunny substituting for the Road Runner as the object of Wile E.'s quest for food. Here they are in a rare hand-inked, hand-painted 2-cel production setup as Wile E. employs his latest gadget, a pressure cooker placed over Bugs' rabbit hole. Of course, Wile E. didn't know Bugs has more than one way out of his lair! The scene starts at roughly the 2:40 mark as Bugs walks up from behind; the Bugs cel occurs at the 2:46 mark, while Wile E. comes a few seconds later. Figure sizes are 5" and 5.75". The custom hand-painted/airbrushed background is a very close representation of Phil DeGuard's screen-used desert painting. The setup is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 9" in a 21.25" x 18.5" Plexiglas-front frame. The frame is sold as-is. Cel and art condition is Very Good with some minor paint cracks in Bugs and his carrot.
