Description

Oliver & Company Dodger Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1988). "I don't eat cats. It's too much fur. I've been watching you, and I think you're in serious need of some professional guidance." This original hand-painted production cel spotlights Dodger, the street-smart Jack Russell Terrier voiced by Billy Joel, from Disney's Oliver & Company (1988)-the studio's 27th animated feature. A modern riff on Dickens, the film follows a homeless kitten, Oliver, who finds family with Fagin's dog gang on the streets of New York. Inspired by Dickens's Artful Dodger, Disney's Dodger leads the pack with easy swagger and showman flair-memorably belting Joel's anthem "Why Should I Worry?"-and mentors Oliver with equal parts charm and hustle. The cel is hand-painted on standard 16-field acetate and presents a crisp full-figure image of Dodger measuring approximately 4" x 6", capturing his confident stance and expressive grin. The film's vibrant urban palette and the character animation defined late-'80s Disney. Framed behind glass to 21" x 16.5", the setup is ready for display and makes an unmistakable link to the movie's music-driven energy. A standout character piece from a fan-favorite feature. Condition: Very Good, with minor handling consistent with production use. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition.
