Description
Oh Bother! Pooh's Book about Trying New Things "Something New" Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, and Christopher Robin Published Original Signed Page Illustration by John Kurtz (Walt Disney, 2001). "My favorite part is where you say, 'And Piglet, too.'" Longtime illustrator John Kurtz, known for his work at studios like Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney as well as his time illustrating Winnie the Pooh Clifford, and Muppet books, brought Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, and Christopher Robin to life in the cozy original storybook illustration in this lot. The charming mixed media image was created for a double page spread on pages 30 and 31 of the 2001 book Oh Bother! Pooh's Book about Trying New Things. The book was part of the Oh Bother! series of Little Golden Books that helped children explore new things and learn how to face uncertainty, this time with multiple stories surrounded by stunning artwork. A print of the page and cover of the book has been included with the lot as reference. The mixed media illustration here was made for the "Something New" section that had Christopher Robin try to write a hum - a little song - for Pooh and Piglet. He succeeded, read it to them, and they were both delighted to hear it. The colorful illustration captures their joy and is rendered on thick 18.25'' x 10.25'' paper with a 16.5'' x 10'' protective cel taped to the page. It has been signed by Kurtz in the lower right and is in Very Good condition with only light edge and handling wear.Auction Info
