Noveltoon Rare Opening Title Sequence Production Cel (Paramount/Famous Studios, 1943). Featured in this lot is a rare and spectacular 16 field production cel from the opening title sequence of Noveltoon! Noveltoon began in 1943 as a series of animated cartoons by Famous Studios and later Paramount Cartoon Studios and ran from 1943 to 1967. These animated shorts were the start of many beloved series centered around characters from Harvey Comics like Casper, Little Lulu, and Baby Huey. The show began with No Mutton Fer Nuttin' and continuing with a variety of iconic shorts - including Casper's very first animated short - before ending with Robin Hood-winked. This hard-to-find hand-painted and hand-inked production cel can be found at about 0:08 in the opening as a jack-in-the-box spreads the title across the screen, a wide smile on his face. We've never seen any cels from this memorable opening and with Noveltoon's revival in 2024, this is the perfect time to add this nostalgic piece to your collection!
